Sandbar Architecture provided full architectural design services for Aero Center Lakeland, a modern Fixed Base Operator (FBO) facility at Lakeland Linder International Airport. The project delivers a comprehensive aviation campus that integrates general office space, expansive hangars, a fuel farm, and dedicated apron areas, all tailored to support the diverse needs of general aviation, business aviation, and specialty charter operations.
The facility is designed to accommodate a wide range of services, including aircraft fueling. Pilots and crews benefit from dedicated lounges, conference rooms, computer workstations, and weather planning resources, while passengers enjoy concierge amenities such as complimentary snacks, hotel and limousine booking, and private charter services. The design also supports robust ground handling, with provisions for air start units, GPU power, airstairs, belt loaders, potable water, lavatory service, and secure aircraft parking with 24-hour surveillance.
Aero Center Lakeland features multiple hangar and parking options, including transient and long-term aircraft storage, helicopter handling, and dedicated real estate for office and hangar lease. The facility is equipped to serve commercial, cargo, government, and military aircraft, and offers on-site aircraft maintenance, parts, and calibration services. International operations are supported by U.S. Customs availability and VIP handling.
Sandbar Architecture’s design for Aero Center Lakeland reflects a deep understanding of aviation operations and client service, providing a flexible, efficient, and welcoming environment for pilots, passengers, and aviation professionals alike.
