In 2015, Immanuel Anglican Church embarked on a transformative journey by acquiring five acres of land in Manassas, Virginia. This purchase marked a significant milestone for the congregation, which had been meeting in rented school spaces for several years. Seeking to create a permanent home that would serve their growing community, the church leadership turned to the expertise of Sandbar Architecture to bring their vision to life.

Sandbar's team of skilled architects developed a comprehensive master plan that aligned with the church's zoning approvals for a final buildout of 38,400 square feet. Understanding the importance of both immediate needs and long-term growth, the architects crafted a strategic three-phase plan. The first phase of the project is a 7,200 square foot church that includes a sanctuary seating 200 worshipers, along with classrooms and office spaces. The building's design is simple yet inviting, featuring a stone base for a solid foundation, vertical board and batten siding for a timeless aesthetic, a welcoming covered "porch" entry, and a soaring steeple centered above the sanctuary.

This new church, affectionately named their "mission outpost," will finally give Immanuel Anglican a home of their own. Future phases include the addition of educational and youth spaces, and eventually, a larger worship center. Once this larger worship space is completed, the current sanctuary will be converted into a fellowship hall, providing a versatile space for community gatherings and events.

As Immanuel Anglican Church settles into its new home, the congregation looks forward to the realization of future phases. The carefully planned expansion will allow the church to grow alongside its community, providing enhanced educational opportunities, youth programs, and eventually, a larger worship space. This thoughtful approach to development ensures that Immanuel Anglican will continue to meet the evolving needs of its members and the broader Manassas community.
